Bible Cake

The Recipe Story:
This recipe has passed through at least 4 generations of our family, We have traced it back to my great grandmother who gave it to my grandmother on her wedding day. She gave it to my mother who passed it to me. Now I have passed it on not only to my daughters but also to the students I teach.

Ingredients:
Use the King James Authorised Version

1. 1 C Judges 5, v. 25 (last clause)
2. 1 C Jeremiah 6, v. 20
3. 1 tbsp 1 Samuel 14, v. 25
4. 3 Jeremiah 17, v. 11
5. 2 C 1 Samuel 30, v. 12
6. 2 C Nahum 3, v. 12 (chopped)
7. 1/2 C Numbers 17, v. 8 (chopped)
8. 4 C 1 Kings 4, v. 22
9. 1 tsp 2 Chronicles 9, v. 9
10. Pinch Leviticus 2, v. 13
11. 1 tsp Amos 4, v. 5
12. 3 tbsp Judges 4, v. 19


Directions:
1. Light oven, 325 ° F. Grease and line a deep 7 inch round cake pan.
2. Beat numbers 1, 2 and 3 together until light and fluffy. Add 4, one at a time beating well after each addition.
3. Add 5, 6 and 7 and mix well.
4. Mix together 8, 9, 10 and 11. Add to the mixture in the bowl and mix well. 
5. Add 12 and mix in.
6. Pour into cake pan and bake for about 1-1/2 -2 hours until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean. Leave to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then, remove paper and cool on a wire rack.
7. Serve sliced or sliced and buttered.
